The Porsche Carrera GT is one of the most iconic performance cars released in the last two decades and after watching this video, you’ll understand why.

The Carrera GT is outfitted with a 5.7-liter naturally-aspirated V10 rated at 603 hp and 435 lb-ft (590 Nm) of torque at 5,750 rpm. This engine features 4 valves per cylinder, variable valve timing on the intake camshafts, forged titanium connecting rods and forged pistons.

However, simply looking at the specs of the engine doesn’t do it justice and one really has to get behind the wheel, or in the passenger seat in this case, to experience just what makes this V10 so special.

V10 engines, such as the 5.2-liter unit powering the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan, as well as the Lexus LFA’s 10-cylinder, are among the finest sounding powertrains on the planet and the Carrera GT’s engine rates up there with the very best. Although the Porsche Carrera GT was replaced by the hybrid 918 Spyder, this V10 monster will go down in history as one of the greatest supercars ever.
